.Reveal your Rebel: steel frames, stackable and sustainable

Reveal your Rebel. What’s your rebellious story? We think everyone can be a rebel. By that, we don’t necessarily mean a rebellious person who gathered an armed resistance against a government or someone who causes a revolution. Being rebellious can also be found in the smaller - and sometimes even in the good - things too. We see a rebel as someone who dares to do the opposite, the unexpected, and to stand out from the crowd. Exactly how we like it. Thus, the right time to reveal our rebel!

.From work trip to new collaborations

It was a summer day in June 2019 when we left off to visit Colombia for the first time. The annual Design Week was held in Medellín. Visiting Design Weeks in Holland is already exciting, let alone visiting one in Colombia. Besides admiring the Central American creativity, our main reason was to promote Dutch Design and to share ideas. Specifically in terms of sustainability. But we also aspired to find other creators in the hope of new collaborations. Pretty soon we noticed there is absolutely no shortage of creatives in Colombia. Not only the fair was filled with outstanding colourful designs, but the vivid Medellin is full of street art and culture as well. Pretty soon we met Pablo Narango, famous for its superb designs for Muma. A meeting that led to a new collaboration together with Studio Loop.

.Best of both worlds

Colombia is a country of extremes. The tropical beaches at the north and west, the vast grasslands in the east, the dessert in the north, and its center run the snow-covered volcanoes. Whereas Medellin is known as the city of eternal spring. Walking through the colourful streets with the smell of Arepas everywhere. A typical Colombian favorite dish, eaten at any time of day. Not to mention that the creativity is strongly presence all over the city. Walls filled with beautiful art, a musician playing on his guitar and many cozy places for people to gather. That this city will fill you with a sense of awe is guaranteed.

The Netherlands, however, appears more serene and modest with its more earthy toned colours. Would that also be the reason the Dutch are known for its down-to-earth approach? Perhaps. But the thing we should most be proud of is that The Netherlands is the European leader in terms of recycling waste. Something Colombia could learn from. The perfect reason to join forces.

.Rebellious, right?

This collaboration is a result of mixing two different worlds together. Designs based on the ‘best of both worlds.’ It is a typical Dutch down-to-earth approach mixed with the colourful, living la vida in Colombia. But both with just one purpose: creating a better tomorrow together. Pretty rebellious, right? Therefore we are proud to show you our new collection: the Rebel Collection.

.The Rebel Collection

The Rebel collection consists of chairs with and without arms and barstools. The series stands out by its steel frame combined with seating made of recycled upholsteries and our sustainable Rezign®. The steel frames give rise to an industrial look and can be customized in many colours. Preferably in the Colombian bright hues or rather go for the earthly toned colours or even a combination? For the soft seatings, we offer a wide range of upholsteries made from pet bottles, recycled leather or wool.

As the Rebels can be customized, the chairs and barstools truly come to an advantage in any interior. Not to mention that these steel-framed chairs and barstools are stackable, which makes them easy to relocate. The real Rebels create a better tomorrow.
